The art of proposing a question must be held of higher value than solving it.

frequently asked questions (faq's)

How often can I pick up food/groceries/clothing?

You may come for food and clothing for your household once every 14 days (2 weeks).

How do I provide "Proof of Residency"?

Different parts of Dearborn county are assigned to various pantries.  We serve Kelso, Logan, York, Miller, Harrison and Jackson Townships.  Please bring a recent piece of mail that was sent to your current address.  This must be dated and have your name and address (no "occupancy").  A power bill, for example, works perfectly.  We cannot accept a driver's license as the information may not be current.  Patrons must re-verify their current address every six months.

What if I can't pickup my food on day 14?

For a one-time emergency, we will allow a 13 day pickup.  You also may have someone else pickup for you.  Please give them a written note including your pantry number, phone number and signature.  We also understand and will be flexible if your scheduled day falls on a NDP holiday.

How does clothing work?

Please complete a form and turn in with your food Click List.  You will be allowed in the building to choose your clothing while we shop for your food.  You are allowed up to SIX bags of clothing.  During winter, we allow one winter coat per person in the household.  Clothing and food are for members of your household only and may not be redistributed or sold.

How do I know that you are open?

We follow the same schedule as the Sunman Dearborn School District inclement weather process (if school is closed, NDP will also be closed).  Other holidays including New Years, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas we will be closed.  Occasionally, we may also close the day prior or after a major holiday.  This will be posted on Facebook as well as at the pantry.
